Homemade vs. Store Bought
All bakers always have this in the back of their mind. Store Bought baked goods vs. Homemade. Ever since I started baking, almost everything my family and I make have been homemade. First, what exactly does homemade mean? Homemade baked goods means that everything that the baker used to make that baked good was just a pure ingredient from the store. Meaning that they didn't buy a boxed package of cake, instead they bought the ingredients all separately and then put their own homemade touch into it.
Personally, I like homemade better for many, many reasons.
PROS:
1. Personal Satisfaction: The first reason being that you get to put your own personal touch into the baked good. You get the personal satisfaction knowing that you put your all into that cake and that someone else didn't make it.
2. Taste: Another reason would be the fact that it tastes way better than the boxed version. The cake will have so much more flavor and it doesn't taste so artificial.
3. Healthy: My last reason is that the homemade version is so much healthier for you. Why? You know what is going in it because YOU are making it. Where as the boxed version is going to have artificial flavors in it and other things that you wouldn't put into the cake.
There are also some cons to homemade making.
CONS:
1. Cost: The first con is the cost of homemade making, it tends to be a little more pricey because you have to buy each ingredient instead of just buying the box for the cake mix.
2. Time: The second con is the time strain. If you home make something usually it takes longer than if you just buy the boxed version. You have to put thought into the homemade version and usually it always takes longer because you don't know how long to put it in the oven. Whereas the boxed version tells you everything you need to have and how long it will take.
3. The Mess: Usually when you make something homemade, it always leaves the biggest mess compared to if you get the boxed version. If you are like me, you hate messes just as much as me.
There are many pros to homemade baking and there are many cons to it, but in the end I will always choose homemade baking. It's so much more enjoyable and tastes so much better!
